Here's a look at Ancarett (Janice) and her family:

Meet my eldest daughter, Eleanor! Here's a fairly recent picture of Eleanor dating from last Hallowe'en. My sister sewed the girls amazing outfits. Both requested to be princesses, so she obliged. Eleanor, five years old and "Barbie-mad" (when she's not mooning over the latest Star Wars movie), was happy to pose in her luxe satin, pink and purple outfit. She was a real hit in the neighbourhood Hallowe'en night and has worn the outfit many times for dress up since! Eleanor's in senior kindergarten and takes a great deal of pride in learning French. She loves her gymnastics class and any kind of artwork (current favourite is stringing bead necklaces). Right now, Eleanor and I are reading through the works of E.B. White, after enjoying the "Anne of Green Gables" series. It's great to be able to enjoy the way these girls are growing up! Eleanor's Hallowe'en
Constance at Hallowe'en Now say "hi" to Constance, my youngest child. She's our cheery child, not that her older sister is ever glum, but Constance knows how to celebrate and make an occasion out of everything. Balloons are her favourite toy, but she's fast becoming a "Maisy's Playhouse" addict and can sing some of the songs from the show. Constance has had some speech delays but you would hardly know that to meet her now. She talks up a storm and sings a great deal! She also knows all her alphabet, can count to twenty, knows her directions (which means she can orient herself better than mom!) and knows her shapes. Constance really likes to paint pictures and sometimes herself. She's very big for her age and it is startling for people meeting her to realize she's still so young, just four years old. This picture dates from Halloween, 2000. As you can see, like her older sister, Constance REALLY enjoys her new costume.
Eleanor in chalk We all love to play outside. Before the snow made it impossible this fall, the girls and I would do lots of chalk drawings outside. One day we hit on the idea of letting mom trace the girls and then they each got to embellish the results. (Note: Mom had to do a lot of the work for Constance. She's a natural born manager!) Here's a family shot of mom and girls. Here we are in my in-law's basement hogging the art table. Eleanor's doing some serious colouring while I give Constance a boost so she can practice her circles and lines. We all really love creative play and the girls have crayons, paints, paper, clay and other messy stuff with which they endlessly entertain their family. Of course, we never seem to get the spots and stains off the hardwood floor (guess it WAS time for refinishing, wasn't it?).
